Game Film Evaluated:
Arkansas (2013)
Notre Dame (2013)

Pros: Real strong hands to go up and get the ball. Capable of busting the seam of a cover 2 defense, beating the mike backer to the spot. Able to beat the press with a good swim move. Very athletic and has the frame of a wide receiver trying to play tight end. Runs well and can get downfield with ease.

Cons: Split out wide almost exclusively at Rutgers. Lets defenders into his body often when blocking, offers very little power at the POA and is not capable of driving anyone off the line. Extremely limited route tree. When blocking, just tries to knock his man back and is easily defeated. Good athlete who can move downfield effectively. Does not have good feel for the open spots in zone coverage nor good at working back to the QB boxing out defenders.

Summary: Tyler Kroft is an athletic tight end prospect who fits into the modern passing game the NFL has turned into. He presents match up problems for defenses to match his athleticism and ability to hurt teams downfield in the passing game. He needs to add bulk, looks more like a wide receiver than tight end at this point. He has a ways to go in the blocking game, little to no strength at the POA and hardly any experience playing inline. 4th round player.
