Pros: Lined up at both defensive end positions for Arkansas. Most effective when playing LDE. Uses good hand placement to generate leverage on tackles. Can stack and shed the block to make the tackle on run plays…Recognizes screens and abandons the rush to take away the screen pass…Can make himself small and penetrate inside crossing the face of a tackle. He played a rover free lancer by design when at RDE to allow his athleticism to make plays in both the run and pass game. He moves well laterally to defend perimeter run game and especially zone reads…Plays with good strength at the POA, keeps the tackle at distance to find the ball and finish against the back.  He can get past blocks with ease…excellent lateral quickness to cross face of lineman. Strong hands. Very good use of multiple pass rush moves, swim and rip moves. Plays with long arms. He is strong at the POA and easily defeats blocks with strong swim move.

Cons: Doesn’t have elite burst at the snap. Tad slow changing directions. He will get a lot of pressures but seems to lack the burst to close on a QB. Plays with adequate burst, nothing elite though.

Summary: Reminds me of a bigger Greg Ellis strong side end in a 4-3 scheme. Flowers is not an elite rusher and projects to be a 6-8 sack type rusher per season. He is one of the few complete pass rushers who can play the run effectively as a rookie.  I think Flowers is a 2nd round prospect.
