Pros: Undersized runner but doesn’t play like it. He breaks a lot of tackles with a low center of gravity and effective stiff arm. He likes to bounce it outside but will still cut it back inside. He can stop and go like Barry Sanders…Looks comfortable in space and running routes downfield. He has carried the ball more than 200 times in 3 straight seasons, the kid is durable.

Cons: He prefers to go low in pass protection, missed badly on several blitz assignments. I worry about fumbling and blitz pick up. He’s had issues protecting the ball every season.

Summary: Abdullah runs the ball like a guy 15 pounds bigger and breaks a lot of tackles not with speed but balance and stiff arm, reminding me of Jamaal Charles at Texas. He has shown the ability to hold up carrying the load for an offense and is a legit receiving threat out of the backfield. However he knows the fumbles are an issue and worked to cut down on them as a senior but he still fumbled 4 times. Abdullah can contribute as a rookie but the fumbles and ability to pick up the blitz will determine how much he plays. 3rd Round Pick.
