Game Film Evaluated:
Utah (2014)
Boston College (2014)
San Jose State (2014)

Pros: Gets set up quickly to take away the edge. He was able to hold his own versus Orchard speed rush. Capable of getting to the 2nd level and planting his man. Looks to finish his blocks well. High effort player.  Has a good feel for turning his man, getting into proper position to set the edge.

Cons: Lacks the quick feet to recover to inside move. Got tossed around easily by Nate Orchard. Doesn’t have the frame with length to recover when beaten. He can be beaten off the snap especially crossing his face. He struggled versus bull rush and inside moves especially vs Orchard. Not the most smooth athlete in space but he can hit the moving target.

Summary: Ty Sambrailo has some athletic limitations projecting to tackle at the next level. He held his own versus Nate Orchard’s speed rush but it was his counter moves and strength that gave him trouble. He lacks the ideal length, frame and quick feet to stay at tackle in the NFL. He gets a good push in the run game especially if he keeps his feet moving upfield, can hit the moving target. I project Sambrailo to an average tackle or best as a guard in a run blocking angle scheme offense as a 3rd round pick.
