Game
Film Evaluated:
Pros: Has
some closing burst. Excellent size for a strong run support type safety. Broad
frame and is light on his feet. Good athlete and has impressive speed.
Cons: Not
aggressive type safety, passive. Does not locate ball well, turn for it nor to
make a play on it. Cannot get off blocks nor fill the hole in the run game
inside. Misses few tackles, not a striker.
Senior Bowl Report: Another local favorite this week has been local boy
JAQUISKI TARTT/S #6, from Samford. He’s a nice sized S at 6’013, 220 lbs, 10
1/8″
hands. He started slowly but with extended reps and playing opportunities he
was a guy who was on the field a lot this afternoon in 11-on-11 goal line work.
He actually ended the practice with a leaping INT in the end zone. Watch for
him to do well in the actual game this weekend. He looks to have positioned
himself well heading toward the Combine. I think he will test well at the
Combine and be a possible Top 100 draftee this year.
Summary: Jacquiski
Tartt is a major prospect and will require a great deal of patience to make an
impact if ever in the NFL. Often small school type prospects dominated the
lower levels and have to learn to win with technique but Tartt never dominated
his level nor was he a extreme leap over the competition in terms of athleticism.
I don’t project Tartt to be anything more than a special teams player unless he
can be a more impressive and aggressive type safety. He tries to play like a
cover 1 type safety but his frame suggest he is a box safety. 5th
round pick.
