Game
Film Evaluated:
Pros: Strong
and powerful. He can get out in space and hit the target with force. Gets good
movement with his initial punch. He changes directions well for a lineman and
can hit a moving target. He handles bull rushes and blitzers well. He keeps his
feet moving in the run game and can get a push when he does that. He can pull
and real good at engaging one block and slide off to get to the next level.
Anchors well. Impressive feet, stays light on his feet, gets proper knee bend.
Keeps his head on a swivel to look for rushers.
Cons: Needs
to do better job keeping his arms extended and them getting into his body. He
can let rushers get inside on him at the snap and struggles to reset his feet
which causes him to grab and hold. He does not consistently keep his feet
moving in run game and often gets stuffed at the line, not a lot of pop in the
run game.
Summary: AJ
Cann is a solid pass blocking guard who has an advanced mobility to contribute
in the run game. He has considerable upside but has a lot of work to do to get
it done in the run game. I project him to left guard to take advantage of his
mobility as a late 3rd round pick.
