Game Film Evaluated:
Ohio State (2014)
Oregon (2014)
Baylor (2014)

Pros: Explosive quickness. He attacks the action. Effective blitzer. Plays man on the line, off zone. Has recovery speed. Willing to tackle in the run game. Sticks and muscles his receiver out of position on inside and crossing routes. Stays low to change direction. Fluid hips and comfortable in man coverage. Got cheap shot knocked out vs Baylor but returned to the game.

Cons: Needs to improve his technique in wrapping up, lowers the shoulder too much. Not comfortable lined up in the slot, tried to jam crossing receiver and let other get behind him for score. Let Baylor receiver inside easily on slant, no effort at all to prevent score. Dropped sure fire INT.

Summary: Trae Waynes is a top cornerback prospect in the class, has excellent frame and length for the position. His film suggest fluid hips confirmed by his 3 cone drill performance at the combine. He needs to improve his technique tackling, got a tad over aggressive at times. He is exclusively an outside corner, would be a liability in the slot but matches up well outside. Waynes is a first round pick and projects to a off man scheme that trust their corners to hold well to start on the outside.
