Report on Rangers prospect pitcher Justin Grimm

I was reading over the prospect handbook from Baseball America and looked up Justin Grimm, the Rangers 15th best prospect as he makes his major league debut tonight.

Here are some points of interest from that report:

"Grimm works his fastball at 92-96 mph with late sinking life. His power curveball gives him a second plus offering. The development of his circle changeup last year was a key to his success and gives him a chance to remain a starter. Texas has worked with Grimm to refine and repeat his delivery, which contains considerable effort. He has mid-rotation potential, though he could also fill a late-inning relief role with his velocity playing up out of the bullpen. He'll advance to Double-A in 2012."

Grimm has performed extremely well thus far in 2012 in Frisco going 8-3 with an ERA of 1.87. He has totaled 67 strikeouts to only 14 walks in 77 innings of work.
